Thursday Thirteen # 6

Thirteen Things you cannot do/have in a small town.

1. Go to wal-mart/target/etc, without driving over 30 miles, and still be in the same town.
2. Go to a movie, also without driving 30 miles.
3. Not know what is happening all over town.
4. Have 23, or more, students in your entire grade. ( I graduated with 18 in my class.)
5. Date someone who you are not related to, or know everything about, from diapers to dating.
6. Not know everything about your neighbor, or know someone who does know everything about them.
7. Have a wreak, and your mother not know about it before the police do.
8. Have a suprise party. It's bound to leak somehow.
9. A mall of some kind. (We miss shopping!!!)
10. Go out to eat, without seeing at least 10 people you know.
11. Get something in the mail that is packaged unsually and the postmaster not ask what it is.(Whirly-bird)
12. Let your kids ride their bikes around town, and not be told, before they get home, where they went and what they did, or who they were with.
13. And last but not least, rent a new release movie. They have usually been out for a couple of months before we get them at our local movie rental place.

I think living in a small town sounds nice! We don't even know our neighbors here.

wow, that sounds like a dark cloud and a silver lining all in one. I know my beans wouldn't like living any further from stuff than they do, but 15 - 20 min. to the movies or fun bar is about the most they (and their friends!) would go.

Tee hee. We thought the whirly-bird was in a funny package too!!!

RE: your comment on our blog. Yes, we hope the loopholes get fixed in this legislative session. They are big enough to drive a Mack truck through.

Wow, that is pretty cool! We live in a "small" town but that is because it is less than a square mile. We know lots of people but not as well as you seem to! You can come to our house for a visit! We have at least 5 malls in our area.

That sounds like a small town! My mom said her graduating class (from grade 13) had 300 people! It sounds like small town living has its advantages and disadvantages, just like living anywhere.

Mom said #7 is definitely true around here! Does your town have any redlights? Our town has none & no stop signs on main street either.
